He reiterated that nationalist policies need not be exaggerated, as real conflicts are possible.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekanat, a key member of the Bhumjaithai Party's Bangkok campaign team, was actively campaigning at Suan Phruek Market to support Ms. Thitiphas Chotdechachainant, the party's candidate for Member of Parliament in the Bang Kapi-Wang Thonglang district. Ekanat introduced himself to the public, urging them to vote on February 8, 2026, and to support Ms. Thitiphas, who is representing the Bhumjaithai Party as candidate number 13 and number 37. Supporters offered flowers to show their backing.
In an interview, Ekanat explained that his presence in the area was to endorse Ms. Thitiphas, highlighting their collaboration since their days at the Ministry of Industry. He reported positive feedback from residents and expressed his wish for the election of capable Members of Parliament to lead the country.
Ekanat outlined the "Sud Soi" (Extreme Action) strategy, stating that it remains unchanged as it addresses issues affecting citizens, including illicit businesses and contraband. He underscored the party's commitment to tackling these problems, continuing the efforts initiated during his tenure as Minister of Industry.
Ekanat defended the party's nationalist credentials against accusations of selling out, asserting their commitment to national sovereignty and security. He emphasized the sacrifices made by soldiers and affirmed the party's stance on border issues and military support.
The Bhumjaithai Party has announced Ekniti Supajee Sihasak as their potential Deputy Prime Minister should they form a government. Ekanat responded to criticism regarding premature governmental appointments by highlighting the transparency of their campaign policies and the importance of voter choice.
