Nong chan: The Eastern Border Command raided the home of a Cambodian national who previously lived in Nong Chan village, finding evidence clearly linking him to a scamming network. On December 18th, the Burapha Task Force raided houses in Nong Chan village where Cambodian nationals had previously lived and fled after the clash. Several houses had been converted into workspaces with communication connections resembling a call center operation.
According to Thai News Agency, initial investigations uncovered numerous items believed to be connected to the scammer network in Nong Chan village. Key items seized included 19 mobile phones, 2 laptops, 4 notebooks, 63 bank passbooks in the names of Thai nationals, 3 Thai ID cards (believed to have been used to open fake accounts), and 10 ATM cards.
The evidence has been submitted to the police for further investigation. This will lead to the identification of networks linked to the scammers in Cambodia, which poses another threat to Thailand's security.
