Dr. Mallika’s Caravan Tour Promotes Anti-Corruption and Economic Stimulus in Bangkok

Bangkok: Dr. Mallika Boonmeetrakul Mahasuk, candidate for Bangkok Governor, led a campaign caravan through the city to listen to the voices of the people, championing the fight against corruption and stimulating the city's economy. The initiative aimed to promote the Bangkok gubernatorial election and encourage citizens to vote on June 28, 2026.

According to Thai News Agency, the caravan was organized to engage directly with the public. Starting from Horwang School, Central Ladprao Shopping Center, it traveled through major roads including Phahonyothin, Vibhavadi Rangsit, Ratchadaphisek, Rama 9, Asoke, Sukhumvit, and extended to Ramkhamhaeng and Min Buri. The route was lined with public, business owners, and vendors who welcomed Dr. Mallika warmly. She stopped frequently to engage with people in various communities, markets, and commercial areas to discuss issues like the cost of living, traffic, safety, flooding, trade, and economic opportunities.

Dr. Mallika emphasized the need for courageous administrators who can decisively embrace reform and combat corruption. She stressed that every baht and satang of public money must be utilized effectively to develop the city and improve the quality of life. She stated, 'Bangkok must be a transparent, accountable, and corruption-free city. We will not allow public funds to leak away through inefficient systems.'

Dr. Mallika also unveiled plans to bolster the grassroots economy by creating new trading spaces and promoting small-scale entrepreneurs, community markets, and SMEs. Her vision is to transform Bangkok into a bustling hub of commerce, tourism, and creative economy, operating around the clock. Under the "Human Innovation" policy, she aims to develop a futuristic metropolis that harmonizes technology with residents' needs.

The campaign was marked by a lively atmosphere, with many citizens coming out to engage with Dr. Mallika. Her approach highlighted her readiness to connect with the grassroots and address local issues.
