Bangkok: The Director-General of the Royal Rainmaking Department has announced his resignation next week, vowing to uphold the dignity of civil servants after being abruptly transferred.
According to Thai News Agency, the Director-General is preparing to submit his resignation next week, following the Cabinet's decision to transfer him to the position of Inspector-General of the Ministry of Agriculture. He emphasized that his resignation is to uphold the dignity of a civil servant and affirmed that he has committed no wrongdoing.
Mr. Rachen Silapraya, Director-General of the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation, revealed that following the Cabinet's approval of his transfer to the position of Inspector-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, as proposed by Mr. Suriya Jungrungruangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, he will formally submit his resignation letter within the next week.
The Director-General of the Royal Rainmaking Department stated that throughout his more than 30 years of service, he has always upheld honesty, integrity, and good governance. While accepting the transfer order, he admitted to having doubts as he had never received a clear explanation for the reason, and he affirmed that he is innocent of any wrongdoing.
Furthermore, Mr. Rachen emphasized that his decision to resign earlier than originally planned was to preserve the dignity of civil servants and to pave the way for new management to lead the organization forward. He expressed confidence that the crucial mission of the Royal Rainmaking Department, including water management and disaster response, will continue for the greatest benefit of the nation.
This marks the premature end of the Director-General of the Royal Rainmaking Department's civil service career, ahead of his scheduled retirement.
