Tiangong space station: The six Chinese crew members aboard China's Tiangong space station celebrated a culinary milestone as they enjoyed a special meal of barbecued chicken and beef, thanks to a newly installed cooking stove.
According to Thai News Agency, the Shenzhou-21 astronauts, who joined the Tiangong space station earlier this month, marked the occasion with their counterparts from the Shenzhou-20 mission. The astronauts successfully barbecued chicken wings using the newly installed cooking oven, preparing the meal in just 28 minutes. This culinary experience provided a refreshing change from the typical frozen meals that are reheated aboard the station, offering a homely taste of barbecued dishes in space.
In addition to the chicken wings, the astronauts savored a beef barbecue, made possible by the upgraded kitchen facilities on the Tiangong space station. This enhancement in kitchen equipment is reported to have significantly improved the astronauts' living conditions during their mission.
The Shenzhou-21 crew, led by commander Zhang Lu, flight engineer Wu Fei, and payload specialist Zhang Hongzhang, is set to remain on the space station for the next six months. Meanwhile, the Shenzhou-20 crew is preparing for their return to Earth in the coming days.
