Bangkok: Chaiyanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, remains steadfast in his belief that the Khao Kradong land issue will not pose a threat to the government's stability. He reaffirmed his position on the importance of adhering to the correctness of land title documents and highlighted that "Grandpa Chai" had signed over a 6 rai parcel of land lacking proper ownership documentation. Chaiyanok noted that the legal team is prepared to offer further clarification on the matter.
According to Thai News Agency, Chaiyanok addressed the concerns raised by Pol. Gen. Seripisut Temiyavej, a list MP and leader of the Seri Ruam Thai Party, along with the Network of Students and People for Thailand Reform (NSPR). They had submitted an inquiry to the Prime Minister regarding the Khao Kradong land issue. Chaiyanok expressed confidence that the issue should be allowed to proceed through legal channels and reiterated his stance on the importance of rights and legality.
Chaiyanok urged individuals to verify the details themselves, rather than relying solely on his account, particularly concerning Mr. Chai Chidchob. He clarified that the land signed for by his grandfather lacked proper documentation, noting that the family assumed responsibility despite the absence of official documents. He emphasized that the rest of the land is supported by proper documentation and is legally held, allowing the legal process to continue.
In response to questions about whether the State Railway of Thailand has pursued legal action regarding the land associated with the Chidchob family, Chaiyanok confirmed that the matter is currently being addressed within the legal system. He reiterated the importance of allowing the legal team to provide necessary clarifications.
Chaiyanok firmly stated that he does not believe the Khao Kradong issue will be a liability for the government, reinforcing his confidence in the handling of the situation.
