Chonburi: Central Investigation Police have apprehended a young man involved in a stabbing incident that left his neighbor with serious neck injuries. The incident, which took place in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, resulted in charges of 'attempted murder' against the suspect, Mr. Wichit.
According to Thai News Agency, the arrest followed an incident on September 21, 2022, around 4:00 p.m., when Mr. Wichit, reportedly in an intoxicated state, threw a glass bottle onto the road, shattering it. The victim, upon witnessing this, warned Mr. Wichit to refrain from such acts and suggested that he dispose of the bottle at his own residence. In response, Mr. Wichit stabbed the victim in the neck twice with a knife he was carrying.
Bystanders at the scene promptly assisted in rushing the injured neighbor to the hospital. Medical professionals disclosed that the victim's condition could have been life-threatening without immediate care. Following treatment, the victim lodged a formal complaint to ensure legal proceedings against Mr. Wichit.
Subsequently, the Central Investigation Bureau, armed with an arrest warrant issued by the Surin Provincial Court, tracked down the suspect. Mr. Wichit was captured on the roadside in front of a house in Bang Lamung District. He was taken to Sangkha Police Station in Surin Province for further legal action.
