Bangkok: The Bus Terminal Company (BKS) has launched three new feeder routes aimed at seamlessly connecting airports, seaports, and popular tourist destinations, significantly enhancing travel convenience for both citizens and tourists. Mr. Atthawit Rakchamroon, Managing Director of Transport Company Limited (BKS), announced the initiative as part of the company's effort to upgrade public transportation services and align with the Ministry of Transport's policy for seamless travel.
According to Thai News Agency, the first of the new routes runs from Bangkok to Khao Kho, covering a distance of 443 kilometers with a fare of 398 baht. This route employs first-class air-conditioned buses with 36 seats, operating twice daily in a round-trip format. The service, which is already operational, departs from Bangkok (Mochit 2) at 09:00 and returns from Khao Kho at 20:40. This route extends the previous Bangkok - Lom Sak route to now include the Khao Kho district, promoting tourism in Phetchabun province.
The second route connects Udon Thani to Udon Thani International Airport and Vientiane, spanning 87 kilometers with a fare of 80 baht. Service on this route began on September 9, 2026, using 40-seat, second-class air-conditioned buses, with two daily round trips. The outbound journey starts at Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1 at 09:00, arriving at the airport at 09:30 and reaching Vientiane by 12:00. The return trip departs Vientiane at 14:00, arriving back at the airport at 16:30 and concluding at Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1 at 17:00. This route enhances the existing Udon Thani - Vientiane service by including a stop at Udon Thani International Airport.
The third route, which also commenced on September 9, 2026, links Bangkok, Takua Pa, and Thap Lamu Pier over a distance of 797 kilometers, priced at 1,075 baht. This service utilizes 24-seat VIP first-class air-conditioned buses, with two daily trips. Departing from Bangkok (Mochit 2) at 18:35, the return journey leaves Thap Lamu Pier at 17:00. This route has been extended to include Thap Lamu Pier, providing connections to popular tourist sites in Phang Nga province, such as the Similan and Surin Islands.
In addition, BKS plans to introduce two more feeder routes in the future: Loei - Loei Airport - Luang Prabang and Bangkok - Phuket International Airport - Phuket. The company's broader goal is to develop an extensive transportation network that integrates road, water, and air transport systems, facilitating convenient travel from origin to destination. These efforts are geared towards promoting public transportation, supporting tourism, boosting the local economy, and contributing to the sustainable development of the country's transportation infrastructure.
