Bangkok: The Bhumjaithai Party is gearing up to finalize its election policies for 2026, with a launch date set for December 25th. The party, led by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, recently held a strategic meeting to refine its campaign strategies. Central to their agenda are plans to continue the "Half-Price Plus" scheme, bolster military support, and address Thai-Cambodian border issues on the international stage. The potential cancellation of MOUs 43 and 44 is also under consideration.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bhumjaithai Party is yet to present any new policies, citing the success of its existing medical cannabis policy. The party's focus is on tackling four major threats. Economically, they aim to implement a phased approach to alleviate hardships, starting with debt relief and extending benefits to those within the tax system. For border security, the party plans to support the armed forces in protecting sovereignty and providing relief to those affected by conflicts. Social threats like scams and drug abuse will be elevated to national security concerns. On the environmental front, they intend to push forward with solar farm projects and greenhouse gas control to meet Net Zero targets.
The strategic meeting emphasized the continuation of efforts initiated during Mr. Anutin's 96-day government. The outlined policies reflect a commitment to addressing economic, social, and environmental challenges facing Thailand, with an emphasis on sustainable development and national security.
