Bangkok: Bhumjaithai Party has officially nominated Anutin Charnvirakul and Sihasak Srisuk as its prime ministerial candidates, citing the current situation as the most suitable time for their leadership. Supajee Ekniti has also agreed to continue working with the party if elected to form a government.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bhumjaithai Party has released a document outlining its nominations for the position of Prime Minister. The document names Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the party leader, and Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew as the chosen candidates. Mr. Anutin, currently serving as Prime Minister, has been selected due to his extensive experience in governance and public support, which is deemed crucial given the challenges facing Thailand. The party emphasizes the necessity of continuous leadership in addressing these threats.
Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, the second nominee, was selected for his vast experience as Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is recognized for effectively restoring Thailand's standing on the international stage and fostering harmonious relations with political and security sectors, earning public and international respect.
Ms. Supajee Suthamphan and Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, previously considered for prime ministerial candidacy, have agreed to remain with the Bhumjaithai Party should it secure enough seats to form a government.
Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, during his policy statement, urged party members contesting in the elections to inform the public that a vote for Bhumjaithai Party would result in Ms. Supajee Suthamphan serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
