Bangkok: Metropolitan Administration organized a significant merit-making event titled "Pa±rasamawara," where they offered alms to 93 monks to pay royal tribute.
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony took place today (November 7, 2015) as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, marking the Panrasamawarn, which is the 15th day after her passing. The event was presided over by Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and held at Larn Khon Muang, Bangkok City Hall, also known as the Giant Swing, located in Phra Nakhon District.
The event commenced at 7:00 a.m. with the Governor lighting incense and candles in respect to the Triple Gem and the portrait of Her Majesty the Queen Mother. The ceremony involved 10 royal monks who were invited to lead the chanting of Buddhist mantras, offering blessings to the monks. Additionally, participants, led by Mr. Chadchart, engaged in the alms-giving ritual, presenting robes and pouring water as a dedication of merit to Her Majesty.
Following the religious observances, Mr. Chadchart, his delegation, and other participants collectively presented offerings to the 93 monks, making merit for His Majesty the King. The ceremony was noted for its peaceful and orderly atmosphere, with participants expressing deep gratitude and loyalty throughout the event.
