Bangkok: Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt presided over a merit-making ceremony to mark the 15th day of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. Mr. Torsak Chotimongkol, Chief Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok, Bangkok executives, Bangkok Council members, department heads, civil servants, Bangkok personnel, and members of the public attended the ceremony at Larn Khon Muang, Bangkok City Hall (Giant Swing), Phra Nakhon District.
According to Thai News Agency, at 7:00 a.m., the ceremony chairman lit incense and candles to worship the Triple Gem and paid homage to the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Officials invited 10 royal monks to preside over the ceremony and chant Buddhist prayers to offer blessings to the monks, as a tribute to His Majesty the King. The chairman, along with Bangkok executives, then offered alms to 10 royal monks and offered requisites to them, presented robes, and poured water to dedicate merit to His Majesty the King.
Following the religious ceremony, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, along with executives, civil servants, and staff of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and other participants, offered alms to 93 monks as a royal merit-making offering. The atmosphere was peaceful, filled with gratitude and overwhelming loyalty.
