Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, addressed the results of the recent Isan Poll, which indicated his potential election as prime minister, surpassing Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party, by 1.5 percentage points. Anutin expressed that while the results might bring joy for a fleeting moment, it is crucial to focus on meeting the public’s expectations and responsibilities.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin reflected on the transition from last place to first in the poll, acknowledging the temporary satisfaction it brought. He emphasized that the real victory lies in understanding and serving the people’s needs rather than relying solely on poll numbers. Anutin dismissed the notion of the Bhumjaithai Party conducting its own poll, asserting the importance of direct engagement with the public instead.
When questioned about Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat, the former leader of the Move Forward Party, and the party’s previous recruitment efforts, Anutin responded dismissively, questioning the significance of past affiliations. He was particularly dismissive of any mention of Ms. Srinuan Boonlue, indicating that her involvement was not a recent concern.
Anutin also addressed the relationship between the Prachachon Party and the Bhumjaithai Party, emphasizing a collaborative approach in Parliament. He highlighted shared goals, such as constitutional amendments and the Clean Air Act, indicating a harmonious partnership with the Prachachon Party. Anutin stressed the importance of focusing on public interest rather than political opposition, underscoring a commitment to benefiting the people and the country.
