Nong Bua Lamphu: "Anutin," the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has instructed the governor of Nong Bua Lamphu to urgently address the needs of the families affected by a tragic shooting incident. The attack, perpetrated by a man described as "maniac," resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including a member of the Village Security Guards (VSD) who was on duty at the time. Anutin has also emphasized the need to track down and apprehend the shooter swiftly. According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Traisuree Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Minister of Interior and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, detailed the steps being taken in response to the shooting in Ban Takhian Thong, Village 2, Non Muang Subdistrict, Si Bun Rueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul has assigned Mr. Surasak Aksornkul, Deputy Governor of Nong Bua Lamphu Province, to act as the governor. His responsibilities include overseeing compensation for the families of the VSD member and other vict ims, as well as collaborating with police officers in the urgent pursuit of the perpetrator. To prevent further incidents, the acting governor has deployed Village Defense Volunteers, village headmen, and others to establish checkpoints along potential escape routes. They are also patrolling key areas to ensure the safety of educational institutions, temples, and gas stations. The Nong Bua Lamphu Provincial Administration Office is providing assistance to the families of the deceased. Initial funeral expenses have been covered by the Village Defense Volunteers Foundation of Nong Bua Lamphu Province, while additional support is being offered by the Nong Bua Lamphu Red Cross Society and the Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office. In the ongoing investigation, the Ministry of Interior's Investigation and Legal Affairs Office has determined that the perpetrator did not legally own a firearm. The weapon used was a 9 mm pistol, and the suspect was last seen on a blue motorcycle. Despite an initia l indication that the perpetrator intended to surrender, communication with him has since been lost. Authorities continue to work diligently to locate and arrest the suspect. The public is urged to report any suspicious activity or sightings to the emergency hotline 191 immediately.
