Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, led a delegation to the provinces of Songkhla and Satun to discuss a comprehensive rehabilitation plan and provide assistance to local villagers. The delegation's agenda included distributing relief bags and engaging with local defense volunteers. Anutin chose not to comment on the ongoing controversy involving the President of the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization and his alleged disrespect towards Village Defense Volunteers.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin departed from Don Mueang Military Airport 2, Wing 6 (BW6), accompanied by several key officials, including Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat and Deputy Interior Minister Sakda Wichiensilp. The delegation also included Danucha Pichayanan, Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council.
In Songkhla Province, the Prime Minister engaged with both public and private sectors to deliberate on the Hat Yai District rehabilitation plan at the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center (DDPM) Region 12. He also surveyed the damage in the area and offered words of encouragement to the Volunteer Defense Corps members actively involved in cleanup efforts at Kim Yong Market.
The afternoon schedule saw Anutin traveling by helicopter to Satun Province. At Samantaratburin Camp, he visited flood victims and distributed 200 relief bags at the Satun Municipal Market and Chanathip Community. He continued his efforts by distributing an additional 800 relief bags to flood-affected residents in Village No. 7, Ban Khlong Khut Nuea Tai, Khlong Khut Subdistrict, before returning to Bangkok later in the evening.
Before boarding at the 6th Air Base, Anutin was approached by reporters seeking comments on the controversy involving Mr. Supit Pitaktham, the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization President. Additionally, questions were posed regarding the recent cross-border conflict from Myanmar, which resulted in injuries to Thai citizens. The Prime Minister chose not to address these queries and promptly boarded the plane.
