Surin: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has vowed that no military personnel will suffer injuries or fatalities without cause, following a landmine incident on the Trat border. He accused Cambodia of deceiving the international community, asserting confidence in Thailand's military response tactics after a Marine Corps soldier recently lost a leg due to a landmine, marking the eighth such incident in the area.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the media before leaving Surin province, discussing the incident that occurred in the Ban Sam Lang battlefield area. He remarked, "Please ask the Deputy Minister of Defense," and emphasized that Thailand consistently uses national defense measures. He criticized Cambodia for portraying Thailand as non-compliant, highlighting their absence from a global conference on combating scammers, which was attended by many countries. Anutin stated that Cambodia's allegations against Thailand are false, and he expressed confidence that the truth is evident to the world.
Anutin underscored that while landmine incidents are clear, there was no delay in response, as troops are actively securing target areas, with only a few remaining. He dismissed criticism regarding the frequency of such incidents, asserting that the military is utilizing its full capabilities and would not allow soldiers to be harmed without retaliation.
Following his statements, Anutin piloted a private plane from Surin Province and was scheduled to visit Chanthaburi Province at 3:30 PM to offer support to the injured Marine soldier.
