Khon kaen: The Khon Kaen Provincial Anti-Corruption Organization has lodged a formal complaint against Acting Prime Minister Bhumtham Wechayachai, accusing him of negligence in his duties which allegedly allowed Cambodia to encroach on Thai territory.
According to Thai News Agency, the complaint was submitted to the investigating officer, citing Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, who also serves as Minister of Interior. The allegations involve charges under Sections 119, 120, 124, 157, and other pertinent sections of the Criminal Code. The organization holds Mr. Bhumtham accountable for failing to maintain national independence and sovereignty.
Mr. Tul Prasertsin, President of the Khon Kaen Provincial Anti-Corruption Organization, emphasized the critical nature of the charges, asserting that the acting prime minister has a duty to safeguard the nation's independence and sovereignty. He highlighted that the failure to do so has resulted in serious consequences, including civilian casualties, injuries, and property damage. Mr. Tul accused the acting prime minister of siding with Cambodia, describing it as a grave offense that undermines national security.
