22-Wheel Trailer Crashes into Five Vehicles, Injures 11 People.

Bangkok: A 22-wheel trailer failed to brake in time, resulting in a significant crash involving five vehicles and injuring 11 people. The incident unfolded at the U-turn point at Km. 38 Theparat Road (Bangna-Trat) in Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province, as the truck barreled into a queue of vehicles waiting to make a U-turn. According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage captured the dramatic moment when the white Scania trailer truck, traveling at high speed in the right lane, collided with an employee shuttle van that was slowing down. The van, carrying seven employees, was among the first vehicles struck. The trailer then hit a black Ford Ranger pickup truck, a blue and red Honda Wave motorcycle, and finally, a Toyota Commuter Samut Prakan van. The accident left five vehicles damaged and caused significant injuries to 11 people. Four individuals were seriously injured and trapped inside their vehicles, requiring Chachoengsao rescue workers to use cutting equipment to extricate them. The rescue opera tion took more than 30 minutes, causing traffic congestion to extend for tens of kilometers. Mr. Suwit, the driver of the trailer truck, claimed during the investigation that he failed to notice the vehicles lined up for the U-turn. As a result, he could not brake in time, leading to the catastrophic collision. The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the need for increased vigilance among drivers to prevent such occurrences.
