Yotchanan Launches Final Campaign Tour in Northeastern Thailand

Sakon nakhon: "Yotchanan" embarks on a final campaign tour across eight northeastern provinces, starting in Sakon Nakhon. He appeals for votes to win all the seats in the province, promising an 8-year term as Prime Minister to reform Thailand. Meanwhile, "Natthawut" titles a leaked audio clip "Declaration of Power," suggesting the speaker must be very powerful and abusing their authority. He insists the Pheu Thai party has never clung to tanks to form a government, stating their voices come from the people.

According to Thai News Agency, in the final stretch of the election campaign, Mr. Yotsanu Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party's prime minister candidate, along with Mr. Chakraphong Saengmanee, deputy party leader and candidate for the party's list of MPs, and Mr. Nattawut Saikua, a campaign assistant for the Pheu Thai Party, toured eight northeastern provinces: Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Surin, and Roi Et, from February 2-4, 2026.

Today, the campaign began in Sakon Nakhon province, with a rally held at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus, in Phang Khon district, Sakon Nakhon province, to support Ms. Sakuna Saranan, the candidate for Member of Parliament in Sakon Nakhon Constituency 6. The rally was attended by a large crowd of people.

Upon arrival, Mr. Yotsanan and his team greeted the public, receiving garlands of herbal inhalers, garlands of teddy bears made from naturally indigo-dyed fabric, naturally indigo-dyed scarves, and garlands of herbal compresses.

Mr. Yotchanan gave a speech stating that this was his first time in Sakon Nakhon and he was deeply grateful for the warm welcome. He then asked if he could formally acknowledge the people of Sakon Nakhon as their own, thus becoming a Sakon Nakhon resident. He emphasized his presence there to reaffirm the close relationship between the Pheu Thai Party and its candidates, who have entrusted him with their policies and the problems of the people. He stressed the need to speak directly with the people, noting the crucial need for a single vote, less than a week until February 8th. He explained the significance of each vote, stating that it can change and elect a Prime Minister who truly understands the people of Sakon Nakhon and can transform their lives. He cited the average household debt in Sakon Nakhon at 200,000 baht per household, highlighting the ongoing struggle to achieve high-income status, stressing the importance of effective leadership. Therefore, he pledged to immediately address the debt crisis sys temically.

Mr. Yotsanan further stated that Sakon Nakhon has 7 constituencies today, and he is requesting all 7, adding that he wants to serve for 8 years. He uses the term "overhauling Thailand," believing that the Pheu Thai party can achieve this. He declared that he is ready to be the 33rd Prime Minister, but acknowledged that he cannot work alone. Therefore, he asked if the party's candidates could join the effort. He volunteered to be the Prime Minister for the people of Sakon Nakhon, urging them to vote for both the candidate and the party.

Mr. Nattawut, in his speech, stated that no political party would engage in anti-nationalist politics, and that the Pheu Thai Party does not pursue a path of division. He emphasized that their campaign focuses daily on policies and solutions to problems, and that their prime ministerial candidate, Yossanan Wongsawat, has never been involved in any conflicts or disputes with anyone. He asserted that the government can be formed immediately because of its knowledge, ability, and vision, having proven itself through its own efforts. Therefore, he stressed the importance of ignoring any accusations of anti-nationalism, stating that such actions represent an incorrect political approach and that electing such a party would lead to concerns about the inability to form a government. He asserted that the Pheu Thai Party is certain to form a government, and its policies are all sound.

During his speech, Mr. Nattawut said that he had flown in from Bangkok that day and heard an audio clip of someone he didn't recognize. He didn't dare name the person, lest they file a police report, as he already has many cases against him. However, he noted that the person in the clip seemed to be making significant statements, mentioning a revolution if a particular party came to power, and referencing various inappropriate and outrageous things. He didn't know who the person was, but if the content was that powerful, he called it a "powerful declaration clip." He also mentioned that he wasn't sure if Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul was aware of the clip, noting that reporters asked if he knew, and the Prime Minister said he had heard it but didn't know if it was authentic or not. Mr. Nattawut, however, seemed skeptical, but he himself was convinced it was genuine, though he didn't know whose voice it was.

Mr. Nattawut further stated that, listening to the content, those who intend to use power in this way believe that politics is about using corruption, wrongdoing, and illegitimacy to gain power-it's incompatible. The Pheu Thai Party has done some things right and some things wrong, because we've done a lot and have many people working. Mistakes are inevitable. We apologize for any mistakes. But one thing that is clear and certain is that Pheu Thai has never done is gain power through illegitimate means, never used tanks to form a government, but always formed governments from the votes of the people.
