Bangkok: Crime Suppression Division: "Way Thaitanium," also known as Mr. Prinya Intachai, discreetly appeared at the Crime Suppression Division to acknowledge charges of joint fraud involving him and his wife, Ms. Raibina Intachai.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Prinya Intachai, accompanied by his lawyer Mr. Saiyud Pengbunchu, met with Pol. Maj. Gen. Thassapoom Jaruprajya, Commander of the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECSD), and other investigators to address the charges. The case involves allegations of jointly defrauding a well-known businessman who transferred a total of 14 million baht into Mr. Intachai's account over ten installments since March 2022. The complaint was filed after the victim suspected both Mr. Prinya and Ms. Raibina Intachai of being involved in the fraud.
Reports reveal that Mr. Prinya secretly entered the building from the back and swiftly proceeded to the 9th floor to meet with the investigators. Mr. Saiyud explained that Mr. Prinya was unaware of his wife's communications with the victim and only knew about the money transfer through his wife, who instructed him on its use. It was also revealed that Ms. Raibina advised the victim not to disclose their communication to Mr. Prinya.
Mr. Saiyud further clarified that Mr. Prinya started repaying the debt in October, with a 1.5 million baht transfer to the victims. He emphasized that there were no business discussions during a dinner involving Mr. Prinya, Ms. Raibina, the victims, and other businesspeople, and insisted that Mr. Prinya never solicited investments. He also stated that the 14 million baht involved in this case is separate from a previous case involving 50 million baht.
The lawyer admitted that the couple is facing financial difficulties in repaying the debt, worsened by negative media coverage that has led to cancellations and sponsor withdrawals from concerts, as well as a significant drop in the value of their barbershop shares. Additionally, they are exploring options regarding their house and its mortgage status. The total damages owed by Ms. Raibina across all cases amount to 152 million baht, which she has committed to repaying.
