Samut Songkhram:Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered the relocation of 10 water pumps from Nakhon Nayok to help alleviate flooding in Samut Songkhram. He assured that the Ministry of Defence is prepared to provide necessary resources for post-flood recovery.

According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, discussed the request from Chayachai Saeng-in, Governor of Samut Songkhram Province, for assistance with the Mae Klong River flooding. The Royal Thai Navy currently operates 90 water pumps across various locations, including Bangkok, Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, and Samut Prakan. Ten pumps from Nakhon Nayok are being dispatched to Samut Songkhram to expedite water drainage into the sea.

Lieutenant General Adul emphasized the support for provincial requests and collaboration with agencies like the Royal Irrigation Department and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Drainage Office. He acknowledged that the Ministry of Defense defers to these agencies for their expertise in water management.

Efforts to drain floodwaters from Bangkok into the Gulf of Thailand are also ongoing. Lieutenant General Adul plans to visit Flora Ville Village in Nong Chok following residents' requests, while other areas are expected to start rehabilitation, including a coordinated "Big Cleaning Day."
