As visitors to the Royal Crematorium has risen over 1.3 million in the past 18 days, relevant authorities are now pondering to extend the visiting period to propose to the prime minister for approval.
The proposed extension is now being assessed by Deputy Prime Minister Gen Tanasak Patimapragorn after he visited the site of the Royal Crematorium at Sanam Luang and held a meeting with relevant authorities before making the proposal to Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha.
The visiting period is to end Nov 30.
Gen Tanasak said 1,352,000 people visited the Royal Crematorium and exhibition since the opening day on Nov 2.
The highest number was recorded in the past three days with more than 100,000 visitors daily on average, he said.
The authorities have now adjusted the visiting time one 30 minutes earlier than normal�from 7am to 6.30am�for students to accommodate the number of students who come to the site since early in the morning.
However, for general public the visiting period will be the same from 7am-10pm.
