Khon kaen: The seven-day deadline for "Uncle Waen" to apologize to the abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram has expired without any appearance or apology from him. The abbot, choosing to view the incident as a worldly matter, has decided to let it go. Meanwhile, the Dhamma Army Lawyers Foundation is gearing up to file a lawsuit against "Uncle Waen" for alleged insults against the Buddhist clergy.
According to Thai News Agency, the Dhamma Army Lawyers Foundation, led by its president Mr. Ananchai Chaiyadej, announced on Facebook their intention to pursue legal action against Mr. Woradech, also known as "Uncle Waen" or "Thanos." The former official of the National Office of Buddhism was expected to apologize to the abbot by a specified deadline. With no apology forthcoming, the case is set to be addressed on September 16th at the Khon Kaen City Police Station.
The case involves allegations of insulting a public official as well as the monastic community of Wat Pa Adulyaram. Despite the elapsed deadline, "Uncle Waen" has not approached the abbot with an apology. The abbot has dismissed the issue as a secular matter, and a police report has been filed against "Uncle Waen."
Phra Khru Adulsaranithet, the abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram, confirmed that he has received no contact from "Uncle Waen" or "Thanos." He noted that the actions of the Dhamma Army Lawyers Foundation fall within the realm of secular affairs and will proceed accordingly. He personally has chosen to detach from the situation, prioritizing his peace of mind.
In a related note, Phra Khru Adulsaranithet mentioned his improved health, stating that he is able to rest, eat normally, and keep up with his weekly dialysis treatments.
In another event at the temple, Ms. Chulalak, a devotee, shared that she visited to offer lunch to the monks as part of her birthday celebration. She expressed her long-standing faith in the temple and wished to support the abbot, confident in the legal conduct of the temple's operations.
