Udon Thani Horticultural Expo 2026 Officially Opens with Prime Minister’s Ceremony

Udon Thani:Preparations are underway for the official opening ceremony of the Udon Thani Horticultural Expo this evening, with the Prime Minister set to inaugurate the event. The Udon Thani International Horticultural Exposition 2026, held at Nong Dae Wetland in Mueang Udon Thani District, is celebrating its second day today, November 2nd. The first day saw lively attendance from locals, neighboring province residents, and international tourists.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Watcharaphol Khaokham, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, inspected the readiness of the event on the evening of November 1st. He emphasized the need for enhanced safety, traffic management, and visitor convenience after unexpectedly high visitor turnout led to traffic congestion and long waits for tram services.

Efforts have been made to collaborate with local authorities to manage traffic and improve public transportation services to the event venue. Additional trams and shuttle buses have been introduced to ease visitor movement across the 13 main exhibition points. Furthermore, more shaded areas and water stations are being considered due to the hot weather conditions.

The official opening ceremony, presided over by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, will see attendance from several cabinet ministers, agency representatives, and the President of the International Association of Horticultural Proposals (AIPH). The Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Suriya Jungrungruangkit, will deliver a welcoming speech before the Prime Minister officially opens the exhibition at 630 PM.

Mr. Watcharaphol highlighted the expo's dual role as a tourist attraction and a learning center for horticulture and agricultural technology. The event is also expected to boost the local economy, with increased activity in tourism and service sectors, including high flight bookings and full hotel accommodations. The expo invites visitors to explore Udon Thani's attractions and nearby provinces to further support local businesses and communities.

The Udon Thani International Horticultural Exposition 2026 runs from November 1, 2026, to March 14, 2027, spanning 134 days. It will feature 32 international gardens from 17 countries and 2 international organizations, along with displays of plant species and agricultural innovations. The event is open daily from 800 AM to 800 PM.
