The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Sunday evening local time saying: The Ministry would like to emphasize that Hamas attacks on Israeli towns and villages near Gaza This included firing thousands of rockets into populated areas. It is a serious and terrible expansion of the scope of warfare. The ministry was shocked by reports of civilians in Israel being kidnapped from their homes to be held hostage. The UAE expresses its condolences to the families of the victims. and calls for every diplomatic effort to prevent a wide-scale regional confrontation. They warned against causing destruction in such a way.
This latest statement is less neutral than Saturday’s statement, when the UAE expressed deep concern over the increasing violence between Israelis and Palestinians.
