Turkish Tourist Robbed in Pattaya Condo by Suspected Acquaintances

Pattaya: Police suspect someone close to the suspect tied up a Turkish tourist's hands and feet and extorted money. Three criminals broke into a condominium in the middle of Pattaya City, tied up a Turkish tourist's hands and feet, and extorted his belongings before fleeing. Police have examined CCTV footage to track down the criminals, who are believed to be close to the victim.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at 3:30 a.m. when Pattaya police were notified about the attack on the 36-year-old Turkish tourist residing in a condo located in Soi Wat Bun Kanchanaram (Wat Nong Phang Khae) in Pattaya. The attackers tied her hands behind her back, handcuffed her, and used cable ties and an iron cord to restrain her. They threatened her and took her laptop and cryptocurrency.

After the robbery, the criminals locked the victim in her room and fled, leaving her to struggle to reach the elevator and seek assistance from the security guard on duty. The incident took place on the 5th floor of the condominium.

The security guard responded by recording the incident on his mobile phone and assisting the victim. He inspected the room, removed the restraints from her wrists and ankles, and contacted the relevant authorities and the police.

The initial investigation officer from Pattaya City Police Station, Khong Dong Tan Branch, stated that details of the case would not yet be disclosed as they are in the process of questioning the victim and reviewing CCTV footage. The officer noted that the security footage likely captured the incident and suggested that someone familiar with the victim might be involved, given the high security of the condominium.
