Ms. Amon Srikongpan, a member of the Senate and chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Religion, Morality, Ethics, Arts and Culture, revealed that in today's meeting, the committee discussed the issue of criticism of the Rai Cherntawan area in Chiang Rai Province of Phra V. Vajiramedhi and its involvement with The Icon Group Company. She said that there had been a fair amount of discussion on this issue. The committee did not remain indifferent and was concerned about this issue because it is a sensitive and important issue in society. Therefore, experts and experts were invited to discuss the issue. However, today's meeting had several issues to discuss. Mr. Sippawon Kaewngam, former director of the National Office of Buddhism (NOB) as an advisor to the committee, added that the committee is very interested in this matter because it affects the feelings of Buddhists and many Thais. From what he knows, the relevant parties, including the abbots of the Sangha, have considered the incident that is related to the Dhamma-Vinaya, while the government officials have investigated the facts as reported in various media. The committee is currently collecting information to find a conclusion and inform further. While Varawut Tiranand, Senator and Chairman of the Sub-Committee, said that he had discussed outside the meeting with relevant parties, which had 3 issues: 1. Dhamma-Vinaya, which is a matter that the Sangha has considered and is currently following up on initially. 2. Law, which officials have taken legal action according to the accusation, and what will happen is still unknown. 3. The sensitivity of the issue is an important matter related to Buddhism. Phra V. Vajiramedhi is considered a senior monk. Whether it is wrong or not, we cannot interfere. As Chairman of the Sub-Committee, he will proceed to find the facts and will set a new meeting date.
