Thailand – Floods (Floodlist, media, TMD) (ECHO Daily Flash of 06 October 2022)

Heavy rainfall has been affecting northern and central Provinces of Thailand since late September, causing floods and rivers overflow (in particular the Chao Phraya River and the Pa Sak River) that have resulted in population displacements and damage.

Floodlist and media report, as of 6 October, 13,635 evacuated people, of which 13,135 were in 74 shelters across the Ubon Ratchathani Province and 500 more in the Lopburi Province. In addition, over 41,300 affected households were reported across the Provinces of Sisaket, Chiang Mai, Tak, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Sawan, Sing Buri, Lopburi, and Nonthaburi (this latter just north of Bangkok).

Over the next 24 hours, more heavy rainfall is forecast over the whole country, with locally very heavy rainfall over southern Provinces.
