Phuket: Preparations for the Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025, which will officially open this evening, are underway. Many parties are preparing the venue at Saphan Hin Public Park in Mueang District, Phuket Province, including the stage and various booths. The Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Phuket Province, the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization, the Phuket Art Association, and other government and private agencies, are organizing this event. Besides showcasing works by artists from around the world and promoting all forms of art, it also promotes Phuket as a world-class art city. The theme of "Eternal Eternity" is to raise awareness of the deterioration caused by consumption, technological and social developments that impact the fragile balance of life on Earth, and to encourage conservation of nature, which embodies eternity. The opening ceremony will begin at 3:30 PM.
According to Thai News Agency, the event showcases international contemporary art by over 65 Thai and international artists from 25 countries around the world, exhibiting their work at 19 key locations in Phuket, including Promthep Cape, the Chao Fah Old Mine, the Phuket Contemporary Art Gallery, and Kathu's ancient shrines. Among them is Saphan Hin Public Park, the venue for the opening ceremony. Four important works by Thai artists will be on display until April 2026.
