Anning: Mr. Marish Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, met with Mr. Than Swe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on the occasion of the 10th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Anning, Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China. The meeting focused on addressing water quality and cross-border security issues, as well as Thailand's efforts to resolve the situation on the Thai-Cambodian border.
According to Thai News Agency, both sides agreed to expand cooperation on several key issues. These included addressing water quality issues in transboundary rivers, promoting border security, and encouraging sustainable development in border areas. The discussion highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to enhance regional stability and environmental sustainability.
Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs informed the Myanmar Foreign Minister of ongoing efforts by Thailand to address and resolve issues along the Thai-Cambodian border. This indicates a broader regional approach to conflict resolution and cooperative development, reflecting the mutual interests of neighboring countries in fostering peace and prosperity.
