Bangkok: The Thai women's volleyball team defeated the Philippines 3-0 sets to advance to the semi-finals of the 33rd SEA Games. The team showcased a strong performance at Indoor Stadium Hua Mak, with Thailand, the 16-time champions, playing their second match of Group A against the Philippines. Thailand had previously won their first match against Singapore 3-0, while the Philippines were playing their first match of the tournament.
According to Thai News Agency, head coach Kiattipong Ratchatagriengkrai deployed his strongest lineup, which included captain Chatchu-on Moksri, along with players Pornpun Guedparach, Pimpichaya Kokram, Sasipaporn Chantavisut, Thaddao Nuekjaeng, Wimolrat Thanaphan, and libero Piyanut Paennoy. The Thai team delivered a solid performance, winning the match with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 25-16. This victory secured their second consecutive win, giving them a perfect score of 6 points and placing them at the top of Group A.
The Thai team will now advance to the semi-finals, where they are set to face the runner-up of Group B, either Vietnam or Indonesia, on December 14th. Thai national team's setter, Pornpun Guedparach, commended her teammates for their strong performance and effective teamwork, expressing confidence in their prospects for the upcoming semi-finals.
