According to Thai News Agency, the Thai women's national volleyball team showcased a strong performance, overcoming Japan with a 3-1 set victory to secure their place in the final of the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.
In the semi-finals held at the Tianjin Gymnasium in China, the Thai national team, ranked 17th in the world, achieved a significant win against Japan, who holds the 6th position in the global ranking. The match ended with scores of 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, and 25-20 in favor of Thailand. This victory ensures Thailand's advancement to the final, where they will compete against the winner of the China vs. Iran match. The final is scheduled for tomorrow at 5:45 PM on August 30th.
The team's success in this tournament not only brings them to the final but also guarantees their participation in the 2027 World Championship. Furthermore, a win in the final will secure Thailand a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games.
