According to Thai News Agency, the final, held at the Nakhon Pathom Municipal Sports Center, saw the Thai team, reigning champions, dominate the court with a 2-0 win (15-5, 15-11). This triumph marks their third consecutive gold and contributes to the Thai sepak takraw team's overall tally of five gold medals.
In contrast, the men's four-person sepak takraw team faced disappointment in their semi-final match against Vietnam. Despite their status as defending champions, the Thai men were unable to overcome their rivals, losing 1-2 in sets with scores of 15-11, 7-15, and 15-17. This result left them with a bronze medal and dashed their hopes for gold.
Meanwhile, in a separate event at the Indoor Stadium Hua Mak, the Thai men's volleyball team, eight-time gold medalists, secured a spot in the final after defeating the Philippines 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, and 25-21). This victory marks the first time in eight years that the team has advanced to the final, following three consecutive semifinal eliminations in previous SEA Games. The Thai team is set to face Indonesia, the defending champions and a formidable 12-time gold medalist team, later today.
