Nagoya:The Thai women's sepak takraw team clinched the gold medal in the women's team event at the 2026 Asian Games. This victory adds to their impressive record, marking their fifth consecutive gold in the event.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai team triumphed over South Korea with a decisive 2-0 victory in the final match held in Nagoya, Japan. This win contributes to Thailand's overall medal tally at the games, being the sixth gold for the nation.
Team A, composed of Nipaporn Salubpol, Masaya Duangsri, and Wilaiwan Kotprom, secured their match with set scores of 15-13 and 15-5. Meanwhile, Team B, featuring Kaewjai Phumsawangkaew, Atikan Kongkaew, and Rasmi Thongsood, won their sets 15-7 and 15-6. This achievement continues Thailand's dominance in the sport, having previously won gold in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022.
