Thai Windsurfing Team Begins Training Amid Rainy Conditions in Japan

Nagoya: All four Thai windsurfers have arrived in Japan and are ready to begin practice immediately, despite the rain. The Thai national windsurfing team for the 20th Asian Games has arrived in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, with all four members present. They immediately began training to prepare for the competition.

According to Thai News Agency, "Coach Oat" Natthapong Phothinoparat, the national team coach, revealed that the Windsurfing Association of Thailand plans to send two groups of athletes to Japan. The first group, consisting of "Dao" Siriporn Kaewduangngam in the Women's General IQ Foil category and "Cake" Chanatkarn Charoensuk in the Women's Under-19 IQ Foil category, has already departed for training camp on September 9th.

Then, on September 14th, "Will" William McMillan, a Thai-Australian athlete competing in the men's open category IQ foil, and "Wal" Wachirawit Than-up, a male IQ foil athlete competing in the under-19 category, joined the team, completing the four-person Thai windsurfing team. They then began training together.

Coach Oat said that it has been raining almost every day in Japan recently, but there has still been enough wind for the athletes to train. When they cannot go to the sea, the team adjusts the program to focus on strength training and maintaining the athletes' readiness continuously.

The windsurfing competition at the 20th Asian Games will feature four gold medals, with the first day of competition beginning on September 26th.
