Vientiane, 2 February 2023 — Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS), accompanied by three senior officials, visited Lao PDR to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lao Red Cross. The MoU aimed to further strengthen the corporation between the two National Societies.It underscores a commitment to enhancing both organizations’ capacity to carry out their humanitarian work and to extend the highest possible quality of humanitarian services to people in need.
On this occasion, TRCS handed over 2 Flat-bottom boats and Blood Donation Supplies worth One Million Seven Hundred Thousand Baht to support the mission of the Lao Red Cross to Prof. Dr. Phuthone Muangpak, President of the Lao Red Cross, at the Lao Red Cross’s office, Vientiane.
Prof. Dr. Phuthone also took the opportunity to present the Government Friendship Medal from the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR to the Relief and Community Health Bureau (RCHB), Thai Red Cross Society, represented by Lt. Gen. Dr. Amnat Barlee, M.D., Director of RCHB, to express appreciation for TRCS humanitarian assistance during Dam collapse in Attapeu province in 2018.
Prof. Dr. Phuthone also took Mr. Tej to pay a courtesy call to H.E.Prof. Dr. Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Deputy Prime Minister of Lao PDR. Later the two delegations visited the construction site of LRC warehouse funded by the Thai public donation through TRCS.
