Oslo: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul represented King Maha Vajiralongkorn at the royal funeral of King Harald V of Norway in Oslo on Wednesday, joining foreign royals, world leaders, and high-ranking international representatives.
According to Thai News Agency, Traisuree Taisaranakul, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, confirmed that the Prime Minister, who is also the Minister of Interior, fulfilled his duties as the royal representative at Oslo Cathedral.
The funeral service commenced at 1:00 p.m. local time, following a solemn procession that transported the royal casket from the Royal Palace to the cathedral. Crowds gathered along the procession route to pay their respects to the long-reigning monarch of Norway.
Traisuree emphasized that the Prime Minister's attendance at the funeral highlights the strong bilateral relations between Thailand and Norway.
