Thai Foreign Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Four-Party Proposals at Malaysia Meeting


Kuala lumpur: The Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted Thailand’s commitment to a four-party meeting, stressing the country’s dedication to complying with the outlined proposals. The meeting included Malaysia, the United States, Thailand, and Cambodia, with a focus on adherence to the ceasefire agreement and effective border management.



According to Thai News Agency, Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow represented Thailand in the dialogue held in Malaysia. The participation came as a result of an invitation from the Malaysian Foreign Minister, who currently chairs ASEAN. This meeting served as a continuation of earlier discussions in New York on September 26 and Malaysia on October 12.



The key points emphasized by the Thai side included the strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement, particularly making tangible progress on the withdrawal of heavy weapons, demining efforts, combating transnational crime, and enhancing cooperation in border management.
