Bangkok: The situation on the Thai-Cambodian border across seven provinces remains stable, with both countries adhering to the Regional Border Committee (RBC) agreements for regional peace. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office and the committee of the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation Administration (TCASAB), confirmed that the border situation at 11 locations in these provinces is normal. The Thai military remains vigilant, maintaining a 24/7 alert to address any potential sovereignty violations. According to Thai News Agency, an extraordinary meeting of the Thai-Cambodian Regional Border Committee (RBC) took place on Friday, 22 August 2025, at the 19th Military Circle in Sa Kaeo Province. During this meeting, both sides signed additional memorandums of understanding, expanding the points of agreement from the previous General Border Committee (GBC) meeting in Malaysia on 7 August 2025. The total number of points now stands at 16. The newly added points focus on mine clearance, join t efforts to suppress scam networks, and clear allocation of border areas. The Thai government has emphasized its commitment to using all diplomatic and security mechanisms to address issues proactively and concretely. It has assured that any border violations will not be tolerated and is prepared to take necessary measures in response. In response to rumors of Thailand convening parliament to declare war, the government has clarified that this information is false. The Senate and House of Representatives are conducting their regular sessions as scheduled from Monday through Thursday.
