Thai Athletes to Receive Over 230 Million Baht in Asian Games Prize Money

Bangkok:The National Sports Development Fund is set to distribute prize money to Thai athletes in recognition of their accomplishments at the 2026 Asian Games, with a total allocation of 236,600,000 baht.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national team achieved a 7th place finish on the medal table, securing 18 gold, 13 silver, and 21 bronze medals across various sports. These included athletics, teqball, sepak takraw, sailing, taekwondo, badminton, boxing, beach volleyball, equestrian, esports, jujitsu, and MMA.

The prize money will reward athletes, coaches, and sports associations, with 2 million baht for each gold medal, 1 million baht for each silver medal, and 500,000 baht for each bronze medal. The distribution is as follows: athletes will receive a total of 165,500,000 baht, coaches will receive 27,050,000 baht, and sports associations will get 44,050,000 baht.

To celebrate these achievements and uplift the morale of those who have contributed to Thailand's prestige, the Thai government, via the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the National Sports Development Fund, and the Sports Authority of Thailand, plans to organize an awards ceremony within seven days of the Asian Games.
