Bangkok: Badminton player Kunlavut Vitidsarn and female boxer Janjaem Suwanpeng have been selected as the flag bearers for the Thai national team at the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games on December 9. Both athletes are celebrated Olympic medalists and will lead the delegation in a prestigious event hosted by Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, Thana Chaiprasit, head of the Thai sports delegation, announced that the SEA Games will take place from December 9 to 20. The event will see Kunlavut Vitidsarn, a badminton player and Olympic silver medalist from France, and Janjaem Suwanpeng, a female boxer and bronze medalist from the 2024 Olympics, proudly carrying the Thai flag during the opening ceremony.
In addition to the flag bearers, the delegation has appointed "Biew" Phuriphon Bunson, a national sprinter, to be the oath bearer for the athletes. Other notable athletes involved in the ceremony include "Yu Banlang Thapthimdaeng," the recent 68 kg Taekwondo world champion, and "Tanya," Flight Sergeant Thanyaporn Phruksakorn, a national shooting athlete competing in the pistol category.
