Bangkok:The Supreme Court has clarified that the President of the Election Cases Division, Mr. Worawut Thawathasin, never met with former politician N. as alleged in recent social media reports.
According to Thai News Agency, the Supreme Court's statement addressed claims that Mr. Worawut met with Mr. N. to garner Senate support for Mr. N.'s appointment as a Constitutional Court judge and to assist in his election case. The Court has denied these allegations.
The Supreme Court confirmed that while Mr. Worawut currently serves as the President of the Election Cases Division, he will transition to a different administrative position unrelated to election case adjudication beginning October 1, 2026. In response to the spread of these false reports, Mr. Worawut has instructed the Office of Legal Affairs, Office of the Judiciary, to initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for disseminating the misinformation, which has harmed his official duties and reputation.
