Bangkok: The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) has unveiled Super AI Engineer Season 6, a key initiative aimed at fostering "new, high-skill, high-paying jobs" to support future industries in Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Panphomsak Arunee, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MHESI, emphasized the importance of human capital in the AI era during the opening ceremony of 'Super AI Engineer: The 6th National Workforce Transformation.' The initiative seeks to prepare the workforce for industries such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, and AI by developing personnel with the necessary knowledge, skills, and ethical standards. The project has attracted significant interest, with over 10,000 applications received nationwide and 312 candidates advancing to higher training levels.
Dr. Thepchai Sapnithi, President of the Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand (AIAT), highlighted the project's role in connecting various sectors to develop a robust AI ecosystem in Thailand. The initiative aims to transition the country from an AI technology user to a creator, fostering innovation and trust in AI applications.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nongnuch Ketui, Vice President of AIAT, noted that the program focuses on real-world problem-solving, offering participants hands-on experience to create solutions that meet industry needs and potentially lead to startup ventures.
Dr. Nirawat Thammachak, Director of the Thailand Research Fund (TRF), noted the TRF's commitment to human resource development and research support, having already facilitated the growth of over 6,000 AI professionals in Thailand.
The event also featured the 'Super AI Engineer: The 3rd Meetup Networking 2026,' aimed at promoting collaboration among AI professionals. The awards ceremony recognized outstanding achievements, with gold medals awarded to Mr. Ekawich Aranyanak, Mr. Sarawut Pholsaen, Mr. Suthikan Phasukmoon, Ms. Paphanin Amnuaykitwanich, and Mr. Mingrat Mekvichai.
