Supamas Isarabhakdi Encourages Higher Voter Turnout in Bangkok Election

Bangkok: Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, led her family to the polling station to cast her vote in the parliamentary election and referendum at Joan of Arc School, Soi Samsen 13, Dusit District. She was accompanied by her husband, son, and daughter, who supported her call for increased voter participation. According to Thai News Agency, Supamas expressed optimism that voter turnout would surpass previous elections, as people are more conscious of their voting rights. She observed that while the morning saw steady attendance, numbers dwindled later due to prior advance voting on February 1st. Despite this, she urged citizens to vote in large numbers. The election proceedings at Joan of Arc School's polling stations 7-10 were orderly, with a continuous flow of voters, predominantly elderly. No election law violations have been reported thus far. However, some voters raised concerns about dim lighting in the booths, making it challenging to see party names and numbers, an d requested improvements for better visibility.
