Supajee Suthamphan Vows Commitment Amidst Economic Crises at Government House


Bangkok: “Supajee” pays respects to sacred objects at Government House, making a vow to work for the country, acknowledging the pressure due to a series of crises.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Supajee Suthamphan, paid respects at the shrine of the guardian spirits and ancestral spirits at Government House to seek blessings after officially assuming her position. Supajee pledged to perform her duties to the best of her ability for the nation and its people, seeking blessings to achieve her vowed commitments.

Supajee acknowledged the heightened stress of her current tenure due to multiple ongoing crises. She emphasized the need to adapt work strategies to an integrated cluster approach among relevant ministries for effective short, medium, and long-term crisis management. Next week, she plans to propose measures at the Cabinet meeting from the Ministry of Commerce to address public concerns. These measures include managing the cost of living with a focus on r
egulated pricing for controlled goods and essential consumer products, and launching the “Thai Helps Thai” project offering special-priced goods starting April 1st.

Ms. Supajee also highlighted the importance of enhancing the capabilities of SMEs by promoting their products on online and nationwide wholesale platforms. In addition, she emphasized the need to monitor exports, particularly to the Middle East, which have stalled. Efforts are being made to find alternative markets and ensure income generation during the crisis.

Ms. Supajee expressed her support and commitment to overcoming the crisis, inviting guidance and collaboration to benefit the people. After her engagement at Government House, she approached the press to offer her willingness to clarify and discuss any issues or information, aiming to provide accurate and factual reporting to the public.
