Summons Prepared for Big Jok Amid Allegations of Abuse

Bangkok: "Big Jok" is about to be summoned in connection with allegations of physical and psychological abuse of a former subordinate. "Big Tao" revealed that a summons is being prepared for "Big Jok" regarding the alleged physical and psychological abuse of a former subordinate. No arrest warrant has been issued yet. Witnesses who saw the incident are expected to be summoned for questioning.

According to Thai News Agency, Police Major General Jaroonkiat Panakaew, Deputy Commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, revealed that Police Lieutenant Colonel Krit and Police Colonel Aris, close subordinates of Police General Surachet Hakparn, Deputy Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police, filed a complaint against "Big Jok" (General Surachet) for physical and emotional abuse. They had been harboring resentment for a long time and finally had the opportunity to release it.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Krit was slapped, causing a ruptured eardrum in his left ear, resulting in permanent hearing loss. He cannot hear from a distance of 3-4 meters, and must use his right ear to hear close up. This is considered a serious injury. As for Police Colonel Aris, doctors have determined that he suffered psychological abuse leading to depression, sustained over the past 2-3 years. Both men have filed complaints for physical and emotional abuse. It is expected that additional charges may be filed. Regarding the question of whether the medical certificate, issued in 2017, is valid for prosecution now, Police Major General Jaroonkiat confirmed that it is, as the statute of limitations is 10 years, and there are witnesses who can confirm the incident occurred.

Following this, more of "Big Jok's" subordinates will be questioned because there is information that several more of his subordinates were physically assaulted. Furthermore, Police Colonel Aris had previously requested to return to his former position, but was threatened with dismissal if he returned. It remains to be seen whether this constitutes the offense of unlawful detention.

The process requires issuing a summons to the accused to appear and acknowledge the charges, which is expected to be issued soon. Regarding the rumors of an arrest warrant, it is confirmed that no arrest warrant has been issued yet. According to procedure, a summons must be issued first for them to give their statement.

Pol. Gen. Surachet revealed that he is aware of the entire incident and is currently consulting with his legal team regarding the case. He declined to comment on details at this time. When asked by reporters whether the incident was an attack on him, he also declined to answer. He affirmed that he is not worried and is currently still in Thailand.
