Bangkok: The Student Loan Fund (SLF) has announced a partnership with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (THPF) and the Volunteer Bank to enhance civic responsibility through community service activities.
According to Thai News Agency, this initiative aims to involve student loan borrowers in activities that promote social responsibility, offering them opportunities to engage with a nationwide network of volunteer organizations.
Dr. Nantawan Wongkhajornkitt, Manager of the SLF, explained that the collaboration allows student borrowers to count their participation in Volunteer Bank activities towards their civic service requirements. The Volunteer Bank acts as a hub connecting social volunteer organizations and independent groups focused on public benefit. This initiative helps students gain practical experience while fostering moral values and ethics. The partnership's criteria require returning student loan borrowers to complete 36 hours of civic service per academic year to advance in their education.
Mr. Teerapol Temudom, Director of the Volunteer Bank, highlighted the launch of JitArsaBank.com, a platform that matches volunteers with opportunities tailored to their interests.
