Bangkok: The Meteorological Department reports that a new, moderate to fairly strong cold air mass from China is spreading over upper Thailand, causing strong winds in the Northeast and East, and a drop in temperature in upper Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts the weather for the next 24 hours with a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China impacting upper Thailand. This will result in strong winds in the Northeast and East, along with a temperature drop. The public is advised to take care of their health due to the changing weather conditions and to exercise caution when traveling through foggy areas.
In the southern region, scattered thunderstorms are expected due to the strengthening northeast monsoon covering the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, and the Andaman Sea. Wave conditions in the lower Gulf of Thailand are moderate, with wave heights of approximately 2 meters, while wave heights in the upper Gulf of Thailand and offshore in the Andaman Sea range from 1-2 meters. Mariners in these areas are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing in regions with thunderstorms.
Currently, the accumulation of particulate matter and haze in the northern and central regions, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas, is at a moderate level due to improved ventilation and stronger winds. In contrast, the northeastern and eastern regions have a low level of particulate matter accumulation due to strong winds.
The regional weather forecast indicates cool weather with some fog in the morning for Bangkok and surrounding areas, with temperatures slightly dropping to a minimum of 22-24 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 32-34 degrees Celsius. Northern Thailand will experience cool to cold weather with morning fog, and some areas will have dense fog. The minimum temperature will range from 14-18 degrees Celsius, while mountain peaks will be cold to very cold, with some areas experiencing frost.
Northeastern Thailand will have cool to cold weather with strong winds, and temperatures will drop by 1-3 degrees Celsius. Central Thailand will see cool weather with some fog in the morning and a slight temperature drop. The Eastern Region will have cool weather in the morning with strong winds and a temperature drop of 1-2 degrees Celsius.
For Southern Thailand, the East Coast will experience cool weather in the morning with a 10% chance of thunderstorms in specific provinces, while the West Coast will have light rain in some areas. Mariners in both coastal regions are advised to be cautious due to varying sea wave heights.
