State Enterprises in Thailand Exceed Revenue Targets with 197 Billion Baht Contribution

Bangkok: Over a span of 11 months, state enterprises in Thailand have significantly surpassed revenue expectations by remitting a total of 197 billion baht to the national treasury. According to Thai News Agency, the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) reported this remarkable achievement, highlighting the Government Lottery Office as the leading contributor with 47 billion baht. The overall fiscal projection for 2026 is set at 203 billion baht.

Mr. Thibdee Wattanakul, Director of SEPO, shared that the revenue collected from state enterprises and government securities during the fiscal year 2026, from October 2025 to August 2026, amounted to 197,356 million baht. This figure exceeded the target by 33,455 million baht, achieving 120% of the expected revenue. The top contributors include PTT Public Company Limited, Vayupak Fund One, and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, among others.

The fiscal year 2026 is anticipated to conclude with a total revenue collection of 203,000 million baht, which represents 111% of the annual target. This performance underscores the efficiency and effectiveness of state enterprises in revenue generation.

Investment by state-owned enterprises (SOEs) also saw substantial progress, with disbursement reaching 218,352 million baht out of a budget framework of 236,839 million baht for the fiscal year 2026. This marks a disbursement rate of 92.19%, an improvement from the previous year's 86.65%. SEPO aims to further accelerate investment disbursements to exceed 225,998 million baht by the end of September 2026.

In efforts to bolster infrastructure and public services, the Public-Private Partnership Policy Committee approved five PPP projects totaling 14,023 million baht over the past 11 months. These projects include rest area developments and a proton therapy cancer treatment center at Thammasat University Hospital, enhancing both transport efficiency and healthcare services.

The Vayupak Mutual Fund reported a remarkable performance, with its total assets reaching 595 billion baht, benefiting from the rebound in Thai stocks. As of July 31, 2026, the fund's Net Asset Value (NAV) witnessed a 28.10% increase, highlighting its strong returns and stability.

On the international front, SEPO is actively engaged in Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations, particularly with the European Union. The focus is on the state enterprise chapter, aiming to benefit commercial activities without affecting public service provision. Thailand is also preparing for similar negotiations with Canada and the United Kingdom.
