Shanghai: South Korea has requested China's assistance in mediating tensions with North Korea. South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, currently on an official visit to China, announced to reporters in Shanghai that significant progress has been made in rebuilding trust with China.
According to Thai News Agency, President Lee revealed that he had asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to take on a mediating role in the ongoing conflict between North and South Korea, with the goal of achieving peace on the Korean Peninsula. During discussions with President Xi, President Lee outlined South Korea's efforts to mend relations with North Korea, which have not yet yielded successful outcomes. President Xi acknowledged South Korea's initiatives and highlighted the importance of patience in ongoing discussions with North Korea.
